The Harvest of Grace by Cindy Woodsmall

The Harvest of Grace by Cindy Woodsmall is part of the Ada's House novels. This book has a very interesting story line and I really enjoyed reading it. Like most of Cindy Woodsmall's books this is novel takes place in an Amish community. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy reading about the Amish . Thanks to Blogging Books for providing me with a free copy for review.

It's Not About Me by Max Lucado

This book really made me rethink things. In our society we’re taught that it’s all about me, and we are very self-centered. In his book ‘It’s Not About Me’ author Max Lucado tells us that if we got back to life not being about us but about what we can do for God and to help others how much better things will be.

This book definitely gave me a different perspective on things and allowed me to think about life a little differently, and will hopefully help me to be a better reflection of the “Son.” I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone, it will definitely give you a different perspective of life.

This book was provided to me free by Booksneeze for review. All opinions are my own.

The Great Mogul Diamond by G.P. Taylor

The Great Mogul Diamond by G.P.Taylor is the third book in the Dopple Ganger Chronicles. This is the first graphic novel I’ve read, and I have to say that it might hold some teens attention, but I also think that it is very distracting. I couldn’t even finish the book because of the distraction. Thanks to Tyndale for giving me a copy of this book to review.

To Be Perfectly Honest by Phil Callaway

To Be Perfectly Honest by Phil Callaway is an interesting read. Phil is a Christian Comedian who was challenged to tell the truth fir a whole year and this book is his view of that year. This book will have you laughing, crying and make you think about different things in your life. I really enjoyed this book and it was an easy read. I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

Beyond Talent by John C. Maxwell

Beyond Talent by John C. Maxwell is about how talent is just the start of being successful. Each chapter contains inspiring real life stories that help enforce the point of the chapter. This book talks about the truths that successful people know: belief lifts your talent; initiative activates your talent; focus directs your talent; preparation positions your talent; practice sharpens your talent; perseverance sustains your talent; character protects your talent…and more. You can have talent alone and fall short of your potential. Or you can go beyond talent and really stand out.

I was very excited about getting this book because I am a huge John C. Maxwell fan and have read most of his other books. This book is like the others in that it is his easy to read, understand, and down to earth style of writing. I was disappointed though because as I was reading the book I realized that I had already read it except it was previously released under the title “Talent is Never Enough.” This book even though written by a Christian author uses very few if any Biblical references. I would recommend this book as long as you are not looking for a book about talent and scripture. Thanks to Thomas Nelson for providing me with an advanced reading copy of this book for review.

iShine Bible NLT

The iShine Bible NLT is a great combination of the Bible and media resources like QR codes. As one who works with tweens I think this is a great Bible for them, and I highly recommend it. The NLT is an easy to understand translation of the Bible and the QR codes make it interactive for the readers. It’s a great size so it can easily be thrown in a purse, or book bag and taken anywhere. I am very impressed with this Bible and will be recommending it to parents of tweens that I know. Thanks to Tyndale for providing me with complimentary copies.
